About
Chris Ott grew up in Buffalo, N.Y. and has been playing piano since the age of 4. He studied piano with Grace Barnes at the Bradley Music Institute in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. While attending high school and college in the Buffalo area, he performed with several jazz ensembles and vocal groups. He also worked with the rock group, The Touch, co-writing most of their original material. He graduated from Canisius College and The State University of New York at Buffalo.
After college, Chris relocated to Rochester, NY, where he worked in corporate finance and was the organist at Trinity Episcopal Church. He continued his musical endeavors with several popular local bands: Rochester Brass & Electric and Mansfield Avenue Band. In addition to solo piano dates, he currently plays with The Chris Ott Trio, Mark Cellura & Chris Ott and Coldwater Blues band.
Chris resides with his wife and two children in Fairport, NY.
